This fully CNC machined latch is an excellent reproduction of the original cast gas tank latches that were used on the early sandcast CB750’s and a wide variety of other Honda’s from 1968 through the mid 1970’s. However this latch is machined from billet brass making it much stronger than original cast alloy latches which were prone to breakage or the cheaper aluminum versions currently on the market. The brass not only makes it stronger but ensures that the beautiful chrome finish will be lasting and will not peel like the aluminum versions are prone to do.

The unit is fully complete and ready to install with stainless pins for both the latch pivot and the gas cap pivot, a stainless latch spring, and stainless e-clips for both pins ensuring a strong and long lasting rust free assembly. Replaces Honda OEM# 17517-300-340 and 17550-377-315 and works with Honda gas cap 17510-323-310. Some Honda’s used the keyed type latch from 1976 onward and this latch will also work with those caps/tanks.
